You have not provided enough information. Do you have... 1) Generator (with voltage regulator)
2) Alternator with internal regulator
3) Alternator with external regulator If you have an external voltage regulator, does the cover have screws (adjustable) or rivits (non-adjustable). Also, what makes you think the battery is being overcharged? Did you measure something in excess of 15 volts at the battery constantly with the engine running with your DMM? Are you actually boiling the battery? I think that tractor has an ammeter and not a voltmeter, right?
