Al, We've had good luck with JB Weld, too. A year or so ago the harmonic dampener on my Ford's 351W came apart and milled out a 3" slot straight through the aluminum timing cover on the engine. It didn't touch the timing chain, but it leaked a lot of oil. I cleaned the surface as well as possible and patched it with JB Weld. Haven't had a single drop leak through yet and we've put about 6,000 miles on that truck since. Also used it to install a stud in my tractor where the threads in the casting were stripped beyond belief-- no problems there yet, either. Now, the air compressor tank I was given that had a JB Weld patch got scrapped. Some things just shouldn't be JB Welded... Best of luck with your power steering pump, Darren
