You are on the right track. There are many, many sprays that will work for you.

2,4D has 2 formulations, which one are you using? For perenial broadleafs, you probably will be spraying 2 times a year for a few years with 2,4D. Some of the other products mentioned cost more but will be more effective on difficult weeds.

The label on the container has mixing & spray instructions, you must legally follow these.

Generally you will be using 1/2 pint to 2 pints per acre of 2,4D depending on your local conditions, air temp, weed size, and type of grass you want to keep. Probably between 10-20 gallons of water per acre. You want a fairly low pressure to avoid drifting, 20lbs or so. This is a general outline, please read & follow the label for your location/ conditions. You may spike the mix with some additives (fertilizer/ stickies/ wax solvents), tho 2,4D doesn't need it most of the time.
