I was with Allstate from 1981 to 1998. Never had any problems with them at all. They were also either cheaper or the same price as all of the ones I checked with once when trying to find a cheaper rate. Only reason I dropped them was because when I went to England, had to change insurance agents because the agent in New Mexico wouldn't carry me with the vehicle moved to Texas and the new agent wasn't the best I had ever dealt with.

They are the best insurance company to have as long as you don't have to deal with them.

Try contacting USAA and see if your eligible. I have had GREAT luck with them with both vehicle and home owners insurance/content insurance. They beat Progressive, Allstate, State Farm, GEICO, and just about every other insurance company when it comes to price and service.
