Engine Oil Capacity: 1948 I-H Farmall Model M

I changed the engine oil this past weekend on my Model M. The lower spicket on the oil pan began to drip after 6 quarts. I added one more quart (for a total now of 7) and the top spicket has not yet begun to leak. I stopped at this stage of adding oil because I don't want to over-fill. What is the proper total amount of oil to be added?
P.S. I am a new, first-time owner of a tractor and wanting to learn. Thanks.
