I've got an old Caterpillar D4 dozer that runs suprizingly well. I was told that it is a 1942 model but I'm not sure. Can anyone out there look up the serial number and tell me about this tractor? All that I've been able to read from the serial number plate is '2T 9496W' and I'm not sure about the last number. One thing that I'm interested in knowing is if the fact that this tractor has 4 hydrolic rams and not a cable system makes it one of the first models to use hydrolics considering its age.
