Naw, this was definately a panther. Up until he died 4 years ago with complications from lukemiea my Uncle spent just about every waking moment in the woods. He was one of those that would rather hunt than breath. There were 4 others in the car with him, including his sone who is the same way about hunting, and they all got a good long look at the animal before it turned and ran off. It's just like bears, there aren't supposed to be any around here...Concord, NC...but there are still scars on a tree behind my neighbors house where one tore it up about 10 years ago while they watched from the kitchen window, and just a couple of years ago a small one was hit by a car about a mile down the road from me......I don't care what the state wildlife people say about animals normal ranges, etc, the animals are gonna go where ever they want...they don't read all the reports that tell them where they should and shouldn't be....
