Like some of the other guys have said there was a update on the air cleaner. So if you fix you will want that done to it. The other thing to check out is Jasper engine rebuilds. They are now offering diesel rebuilds with descent warranties if i remeber right. The thing that might be the hang up is that you have a newer 7.3L engine. In 98 they started for what I call a newer generation of the 7.3L. The main thing being aftercooled. Dont let anyone discourage you from this engine. Good luck with the truck
