I've got a 1950 8N and I always run 20-50 here in Texas. The motor has been overhauled so running detergent oil is no problem. Some people will argue that old motors that have a lot of carbon build-up that its bad to use detergent oil since it can break loose the carbon and cause a problem in your motor. If it is an older motor that has not been overhauled I would run the 20-50 and change my oil after a few hours.
