Well, us locals have those problems too. The first light rain after a dry spell, and the first ice are deadly. Ice, you know, that white stuff that is only about 1/32" thick, blankets everything, and brings the state to it's knees. Nothing like watching people with highly sloped driveways, try to get to the street. Not funny.
