Over the years I've found that there are any number of things that'll work for what you're trying to do. I've soaked things in diesel fuel, brake fluid, old motor oil, paint thinner, and even penatrating oil. I've had the best results with a mixture of diesel fuel and brake fluid. (I got ahold of a 55 gallon drum of contaminated brake fluid years ago. I'm still using it) Sometimes heating things will have a negative effect. I try to use that ONLY as a last resort. JMHO John
