Couple of years ago I broke the kingpin off the end of the axle on my 2510 JD while trying to load big round bales. All this happened within 100 feet of a major highway...talk about embarrassing! Anyway, I wanted it fixed right away, so called a repair shop 10 miles away to send a truck out. The owner himself showed up with his portable welder. Took about 3/4 hour to jack up the tractor, grind the joint, weld things back together. When all done he presented his bill...$40.00! I gave him a $50 bill and told him to keep the change. He refused, and handed me back $10...telling me: "With a rig like that you're going to need every dollar you've got."
