Yesterday I got an email supposedly from ebay offering to change my status to "Power Seller" because I had maintained a high feedback rating over a long period of time. To take advantage of this off I had to click a link in the email within 24 hours. So I did. It took me to an ebay sign in screen (looked almost like the real ebay sign in screen, but not quite). I couldn't quite figure out why the sign in screen seemed different, but I did not input my info. I looked at the URL in the blue border on top of the window and noticed it was NOT an ebay address. So I forwarded the email to spoof@ebay.com. They responded almost immediately and told me it was a scam to steal my personal info. If I had given out my ebay id and password, they could have logged into my account, looked at my personal profile (which includes my address, and credit card number) and I would be financing a buying spree in the bahamas.
