This is a 12 volt system with a positive ground.
The tractor has not run for 4-5 years, but did not have this problem at that time. If the coil has a resistor in it, and then there is a external resistor, would that make the external resistor smoke? I do remember replacing the coil before the camshaft went out, and maybe I put on a coil with a internal resistor???? I will check this morning, thank you all for the information.
