Jim, what kind of tractor are we talking here? I remember something the other day or night about air bubbles in the radiator. That's usually a good sign got a problem with a head gasket, or head. Overheating too? I don't remember. Head gasket certainly is cheaper and gotta pull the head anyway to get to the gasket, so let's pull the head. Many a tractor's been re-sleeved right out in the field with the plow still in the ground because that's where she broke, and that's where she got fixed so that could finish plowing. A head gasket aint all that bad. So, what kind of tractor are we talking here so we can get her fixed and going again.
