I've bought used tractors over the years from private parties, implement dealers, and auction sales. Even by inspecting the tractors myself, and talking to the sellers, I still get disappointed when things aren't right. We all expect perfection, but "perfect" isn't possible on old, well used mechanical devices, that have probably gone well beyond their designed lifespan. If I was thinking about a tractor that was 2000 miles away in Canada, I would do more than just wire the money. I believe I would locate a full line implement dealer in the area that could send a mechanic out to do an inspection, and forward a report. (I think your tractor was only 30 some miles from Winnipeg...where I'm sure there are some good shops that would have been willing to help.) Anyway...better luck next time.
