Hello, Today our ag machinery/heavy duty class made a fundraiser. we took bets on how long this engine would run for $2 a guess. There were prizes donated to the winners. We took a 466 IH diesel, which had nothing wrong, took the fan belt off, and ran it at 4000 RPM (nearly double it's rated speed). it lasted a 8 minutes and 5 seconds. It was neat to watch. after 2 minutes, the paint was burning off the valve cover. After 4 minutes, coolant pressure was so high that the radiator top tank burst. after 6 minutes the engine began to lug down from the internal load but the govonor sped it back up. it did this a few times over. After another minute, it started to miss and flames shot out the exhuast. Smoked like hell. after another minute, she slowly lugged right down and siezed. a infared thermometer read 560*F on the side of the head. QUITE A SHOW!
