I only fly once or twice a year, but when I do I found that pricing on the airline web page (I use AA) is about the cheapest. But you have to do a little work trying different dates. It's usually cheaper to fly in the middle of the week than on or near the weekend. The number of days you stay also makes a difference. Number of layovers. And of course the earlier, usually the better. Also call the airline and price them that way also. Sometimes their prices are different. Prices change all the time, nothing is really set. You may have to travel to a different airport to get a better deal. Another thing to think about is some airports have free parking. Expedia and the others I tried were sometimes 10-50+ dollars higher. They may be able to get better last minute prices?? Search around. Some other airlines offer special packages and other permotions. Possibly split a cupon book of tickets if you are with a group.
