I bought one new in "79 and it is still my big tractor. I only run 250 acres with cattle and hogs, with only my wife for help. It has been a great tractor. The only draw back was an overhaul at 3000 hrs, but the mechanic said the problem has been cured with the new set of pistons and rings, like the last post referred to with the rings. It is a great cold weather starter but plug it in if under 30 degrees for easier starting. Does like its fuel though. The shifter can get a little sloppy over time or if it has lots of hours on it.
