I have a 94 Ranger with the 4.0 engine. I have 158,000 on the truck and it NEVER (and I mean NEVER) has used any oil. As far as the engine goes, all I've ever done to it is replace the cam timing sensor at about 135,000 miles. Everything else had been routine stuff like brakes, radiator, water pump, etc. all stuff you should expect to do or should do as you get up into the higher mileage area. This has been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned and I'm not about to get rid of it. I really need a bigger one with extended cab since my grandson is getting to the age where he will go with me to all of the tractor events. But I have nothing but good things to say about this truck--body still good, still "torquey" and I still like it.
