I guess you could pickup a couple of those old field phones from an Army surplus that have hand cranked ring generators to make them ring, and they provide talk battery so can actually talk to the person so can decide whether or not want to go down and open the gate before you do. One thing's for sure, are old and I'm thinking if and when they break, parts are gonna be hard to come by. But are/were pretty durable. And need cable/pair of 24 or 22 GA wire between them. Aint gonna get any cheaper than that. Mark.
