I see your point on cost go to garden tractor forum and ask JT he lives by me and has a large small engine shop and he probley tell what is wrong with your unit here might be a simple fix. here in spfld there is nothing that he has not saw .

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out.
