I installed one in the barn at the sink. Works great...instant hot water. It was a SETS 11kw unit...small but it only does the sink. Took a 50amp breaker at the panel and 8g wire to it. I don't use it in the winter so I don't know how it will work.

I haven't used in early spring yet but will this spring. I just installed it this past August. I live in upstate NY just on the Canadian border so the water this spring coming in will be really cold. It will be interesting how well it heats the water.

In August, the water was at about 70* coming in and it was instantly hot enough to burn your hands.

At this point, I don't regret putting it in even though it was pricey. I didn't want a hot water tank storing hot water all the time and thus the instant heater. I did buy it on EBay and paid 150 + SH....the unit was brand new and if I bought it brand new from a supplier it would have gone close to $500 I guess.

If you plan on a whole house heater...then you'll need a huge KW heater and that'll run even more. \

So...what am I telling you? I have one, I'm happy with it now.
