The parts manual does show a square wide front for a model 70 rowcrop chassis. Odd that there were no serial number breaks in the assemblys. However checking some info from a real pro J.R.Hobbs. Found that the square wide front rowcrop axle was introduced at serial number 7017500.November 1954 along with the new diesel engine option. 16,000 gasser row crops built. As for being a good serial number. Take a real good look with a magnifying glass and a strong light. And try the Two Cylinder Club again with real clear handwriting. Maybe someone somehwere was just having rough day and something got transposed?
