Mark, you hit the nail on the head........ never buy land, unless you get it checked for pollution.. Several bought land at a tax auction here, turned out it was a Toxic waste dump, Clean-up costs were estimated to be many millions. It happens a lot, companies have polluted land, stop paying tax, & someone buys land at the tax auction, & assumes the liability... Not fair, but the way it is.....
