The "angle" is set with a push arm mounted to the plow at the outside end of the blade, and to the truck frame at the other end - it"s usually just a sliding pipe inside a pipe that"s locked in place with pin in a hole... it usually has a spring shock absorber arrangement on it, too, although this is a joke if you hit something solid! The blade is raised with a cable that is in turn hooked to a hydraulic cylinder and set of pulleys - it is strictly up only, with no down pressure, and "floats" along the surface... if the surface is frozen it looks like you really know what you"re doing, but if it is not frozen it can get pretty rough looking real quick. srs/mn
