Folks, I am looking for information on this tractor. I did do research into past discussions and it appears that there a lot of negative comments on it. None of them were really substantiated. I bought it last fall with model 47 loader. Spent a couple years getting by with a Ferguson TO-30 and looking/learning/etc. at different tractors. I have about $6000 into it and so far have not found anything that it will not do. I own 35 acres that is about half open field and half woods. Plans are to establish a tree farm, vegetables to local farm market, and small livestock operation. My use for the tractor is show removal in the winter. Skidding of trees that are destined for sawmill of firewood pile. Plowing, discing, leveling for a large garden as well ground work involved in starting a tree farm (cleared, plowed, disced, and planted into winter wheat for cover crop last fall in preparation for putting in trees this spring). I also plan on using it for bush hogging (as a backup for Ferguson) and running a post hole digger. So, did I royally screw up and buy the wrong tractor ? I looked at a number of newer compact tractors (JD, New Holland, Kubota) as well as some older larger farm tractors. I definitely learned with Ferguson that I have to work within its limits and have resultant repair/disaster stories to prove it. I would like to avoid pushing the JD past its limits. Thank you in advance for feedback. My email is open if you want to respond privately. wirehair
