It looks like a Series IV but I would still get the serial number. Ask him any questions you have (like the 3rd gear) that are not answered in the description. Or ask him to try making the tranny jump out of gear. The seller seems like he's shooting straight on the description and if I didn't already have other project tractors I would be bidding on this one. BTW, the diesels are not known for their good cold weather starting--I would ask him about his valve lash question--does he think the valves are set too tight or too loose? Are they making a bunch of noise or what??
