Hi Jeff, Thanks for the info. Actually, the 1947 has one 13.6 x 26 on it (was there when I bought the tractor). I don't like it because it rubs on the fender. When & if I find a good replacement tire / rim combination for the 48, I plan to "hand-me-down" those tires to the 47 just to get rid of the 13.6. As far as changing rims to 28's, is there a specific type or brand I will need? The centers of my wheels are very heavy cast iron, but the actual rim would have to be a specific inside diameter to properly clamp to the center......right? For the record, I like my existing gear ratio. If I go with 28's, can I get a lower profile tire to keep the same ratio? If anyone out there has gone through this already, I'd sure like to learn from your experience. Tim
