When I was in my teens (40 years ago)I was sharpening fence posts with a tractor mounted buzz saw. Dad always preached to wear safety galsses when operating it. suddenly an 8 inch long splinter ripped off the cedar post and struck end first in the center of one lens of the safety galsses I was wearing. The splinter broke in a couple pieces, and they also hit. I've worn safety galsses ever since when working with equipment. The prescription glasses I now wear full time are American Optical safety glasses, with the chanigng tint leneses. I really like them.
