If you were to try and use that thing around here you would need those ditchers every year. Not to irrigate but to drain the field of rain water. With over 60" of rain a year the only thing we irragate is flooding a rice field.

I have even seen fields in low parts of the state with a levee built around the whole field and a irragation pump set up to pump the water out.
