You got stuck with one of the "piston slappers." There is a reason why someone dumped it at 35,000 miles. The root cause is a mistoleranced piston/bore. GM claims this is normal and won't cover it so your SOL. Your best bet is to do a google search to see what other people are doing to get back at GM.
