In this state, as soon as he threw that rock in your direction he was committing an assault. If you got no witnesses, though, it's impossible to prove. Wouldn't hurt to file a complaint, though.

If the hour was late enough, and his music was loud enough, he mighta been disturbing the peace as well. Unfortunately, the current climate in most places is that private property rights aren't important, so trespassing is something you probably have to deal with yourself, accidentally.
