Tags will depend on where you are going to go with the trailer. If you are staying in your home state,you should contact either the State police or DMV to see what options are open to you(regular trailer plates,farm plate etc.) If you are going out of state,this is where the the fun starts. Since you will be carring a backhoe,which to most scale employees means COMMERCIAL USE,you will need to be tagged properly,insured and DOT placarded as well.The not for hire/private use sign won't fly,you will have to stop for scales etc.Make sure your tow vehicle has ample Manufactures Rated capacity for truck,trailer and load,which in your case will need to be in the 30,000# range.
