A friend is rebuilding an engine for a John Deere 500 C Backhoe. He needs info on torque specs and sequence on head, rod and mains and valve lash on the overhead. Also needs info on how to time the engine. Seems this engine has an unusual arrangement of timing the injection off the oil pump drive on the front of the engine. No timing marks or pins are evident. Local John Deere dealer got a "deere in the headlights look" when we asked them for this info. The # on engine tag- 4-270 DR02 300953RG. Machine S/N is 500CD 262843T If anyone has service manual illustrations they can contact me and I will provide fax # if they can't scan and send by e-mail. Any info at all would be appreciated. Thanks
