One year we received som grasses from Alaska, put them in the greenhouse to make sure they were going to survive the shock of being uprooted. They all died, but I left the pots for 6 months just to make sure. One day I was checking the pots and a small green sprout was growing. I couldn't tell what is was so I left it. It turned out to be an evergreen, I haven't had time to ID it. It currently is planted in front of my house and is 8 feet tall. I didn't think it would survive in eastern Washington state. Bobg
