I have got a 2 wheel drive version of this truck, 5.4L V8, auto trans and a factory towing package. The manual says it can tow either 8000 or 8600 lbs, I cannot remember which. I just don't know how well it can control this load or how well it can stop it even with trailer brakes. I have a 97 F-350 with a 460 and a 5 speed to tow with. The F-150 is what I drive to work every day. I have a 7 ton pintel hitch trailer. This with my tractor weights over 10,000 lbs. I would not think of hooking this to my F-150 even using trailer brakes.
