It is a lever that you can move from fast to slow etc without stopping and without depressing the clutch, not the same as a hi-lo box So for example you could put your tractor in top gear and low on the ta to get you going on the road and then once your shuffling along pull the ta up to high (without clutching) and you will go faster basically! Its like another gear. Useful when it works but ive heard the ta can be a barstard. Its IH's name forthe same thing as MF's multipower. (search at the top of this page for multipower and you should get some good descriptions of what it does - its the same thing)
