First you gotta decide what you're gonna use, then see how long to wait to apply it to new concrete. Until then I'd just get some thin cheap plastic and put newspaper on top to catch drips until you seal the floor. I did my basement with 2-part epoxy that had paint flakes to highlight the base coat, looks real good and they make it for garages too. But then there's alot of good stuff out there depending on your needs so take your time and check out all that's availible.
