Hi I got 315# for Canadian Spruce weighing 28Pounds per cubic foot and I got 911 # for steel at 490 pounds per cube ft. I calculated the 2 by 12 at a nominal size of 1.5" by 11.25" by 16ft I calculated the wood for 6 boards which left 1/2 inch remaining. The weight of that cut off was something like 5 pounds so I did not put it into the equation. I can imagine picking up 6 2 by 12's with my legs but I can not imagine picking up a sheet of 1/4 inch plate metal that is 16 feet by 67 inches So the figures sound reasonable.
