I was just given a Type LA and am also looking for the color scheme. I found a "Painting Committee Decision" to paint the flywheel and output pulley I.H. Red, with "Special Gray" on the rest of the engine. They also, specified 1/16" red striping around the hopper, near the molding lines. I"m guessing that this is near the top of the water hopper.
