i due not see why you can put it in the mustang, i have put a 427 l88 with 4 speed in a 55chevy nomad an raced it on the west coast in washington state in the early 70s also put v8 in ford pickups that had six cyclinders in them before. you may have to make motor mounts and due some suspension work but you should be alright. that was the good old days now we are restoring1960 back farm tractors to keep them from being scrapped.
