The width of the rear wheel base can be a factor also. If they are set narrow, you can get more on. I have a brother in law that hauls 3 Farmall C"s on an 18 foot trailer because they are set narrow. He backs one on as close to the edge as he can get, backs another on so that one of the rear tires o between the other tractor and its tire and then pulls the third on with the narrow front in between the other 2. At least, I think that is how he does it. They are crammed on there.
