I used the redkote on recent resto and it hasn't dissolved so far. I'd use something else if you're in a hurry. Can't remember what can said, but it needs at least a day to cure in my opinion. Remember to remove fittings and plug vent tube if your tank has them. I had a plug fall out and was a bugger to get stuff out of a small tube.
