My gut sense is to use the pump instructions rather than the forty odd year old recomendations in the owners manual. These fluids have changed a lot in forty years, especially in the area of synthetics and additives. The oil recomendations for my 1960 JD 730D call for thirty weight in summer and twenty in winter. I use shell rotella muti-viscosity year round. To be sure call the pump place or Ford dealer.
