Like Mark/txgrn, I've had good luck with Marvel Mystery Oil. I add it to the gas for my tractor and all my small engines. If I have an engine with a stuck valve, I'll dump it in the spark plug hole, down the carb or whatever it takes to lube the valves.

Before I put my generator away, I always dump a little extra MMO in the gas, then run the gas dry. Since I started doing this, valve sticking on my 1950 vintage Briggs & Stratton has completely disappeared.
