That's the way I heard it. The bad part was (as I recall) they had to live on it and farm it and that must have been an ordeal......like it was for all (most all I'm sure) farmers of the time. Can you emagine plowing Allan's 200 acre hay patch with one mule and one moldboard plow.......and no beer? (Ha). And then there was the dust bowl days of the '30's (as I recall the date). Mark
