OT: Speaking of bees, this is crazy

Had a Carpenter Bee nesting in a piece of 2x4 railing on my front porch. Today I noticed that the Carpenter bee and it's larvae had been "evicted" so to speak. The bee's larvae were all laying around the entrance to the nest, some fresh sawdust, and the new tenant, a HUGE yellow/black striped wasp of some sort. As far as I can tell he moved in last night or today. The ol' bee is nowhere to be found. The new wasp seemed to be by himself.
I took care of him a few minutes ago, he was huge.
Kinda scary doing battle with a wasp the size of a small rodent.
