Ryan, It would serve you best to check with the DMV or your State DOT to find out just what stipulations exist in your state as to the use of Farm vehicke tags. The law varies from state to state. In Michigan, for example, Farm tags are to be used only for transporting farm products or equipment within the state, or within 150 miles of the farm from which the vehicle is registered. Due to a quirk in the law, I am in violation by driving my truck back to the field from the elevator empty, because I am no longer transporting a product. There is a Farm Log tag which allows much more latitude, and can be used for most any purpose except to haul non agricultural or logging items commercially for hire. Most Farmers here use Farm Log tags for that reason.
