You never gave much info on what type of 5hp briggs it is. If it has points it can be the fiber little push rod that opens the points. When it just starts to get alittle warm it will sease up and stick the points open and die. If it has points replace this pushrod.Or it could be the condensor. Does it have Blue spark? Other than that i would need more info on the motor as to what type of carb it has and is it electronic ignition.
